Project P.L.A.Y School on corner of Melrose & Old York Rd (inside St. John's Lutheran Church) is wonderful. It's not a religious affiliated school & focused on creative & imaginative play.

For PRESCHOOL, Mornings (afternoon for extra $$ when available) I think one of the best is Abington Presbyterian Nursery School on Old York Road, across from the Abington YMCA. Wonderful environment and great teachers

Old York Road Temple Beth Am. Sherrie Turetsky, the director, is amazing! Both my kids went through preschool there and loved it!

We use Gloria Dei in Huntingdon Valley. It is a 5 min longer drive, but worth it to us. We attend church there as well (not a requirement nor are the classes religious) and it's a very welcoming & progressive place. If you need full out day care hours it might not work, but otherwise an assortment of hours/days/times at a great price. http://gloriadei.com/preschool
