I have a BMW 5-series.... and i need an oil change soon. Most places I've been to here don't know how to do one on this type car! Nor do they handle synthetic oil. I...

Knock yourself out on youtube, there are tons of tutorials on every BMW and it really is not half as scary as it sounds. Devote one entire weekend to it for the first time and after that it's easy and saves a ton.

hHAHAHHAHAHA....i looked at the Jackie Cooper site (http://www.bmwserviceoklahoma.com/?gclid=CMnlja-nprkCFe1_Qgod4TIAzQ) and it's only $55 for "DIAGNOTIC check-engine Light" service. Cooper is where this car came from BTW.

We had bought a 1 year old Subaru Forester with manual transmission the year before we moved away from New England. And 4 wheel drive was necessity because we couldn't even drive up to our place in snow. Of course we move out here and the rear view mirror immediately falls off because that car is obviously not designed for these tempertures, the glue simply gives out. Awesome. Spent 2 weeks trying to find a way to keep the rear view mirror on. Fixed that - 2 days later we're rear ended on hellish Northwest Expressway. 1 year old Subaru totaled. I was bummed but on the other hand I owe it to the Subaru's safety nothing worse happened. Resale value was excellent, far better than excepted so insurance did good. So we're off to the only Subaru dealership nearby and they nearly had a heart attack somebody asks for a Forester with a manual. No way, unless you wait weeks. We need a car, though. In the meantime we joked about hail sales, lol. Sure enough a massive hail storm damages just about every car everywhere on the lots. Found a great Mazda with similar specs, bit smaller, more efficient - and a MANUAL. And at least I can get it serviced here without people acting as if you brought them the Challenger capsule, or something. And thanks to being fairly uninhibited when it comes to haggling - new hood, all lights fixed, fixed the biggest dings in the color - and drove off the lot with a vehicle that had 30 miles on the odometer and for half the price it regularly would be. Phew. Somebody was looking out for me.
