Doroty and Evva on San Juan Ave have always done really well for me. They are eastern european so if you expect bouncing smiley service, they are not your thing. They are nice and do great work though.

If you get no other suggestions, I would recommend Deerwood Tailoring (Southside and Baymeadows). I realize that it is outside of your desired area, but they do great work.

Not really in your desired area, but Sew True Alterations at the beach does great work. They were able to alter a wedding dress that a different tailor told me was "unalterable."

Just had a bridesmaids dress tailored by Ms. Sue at Ortega Alterations. She was super friendly and sweet. The cost to have it shortened and have some adjustments made to the bust area was $58. Located by ABC Liquors by the intersection of Roosevelt and Timuquana.

Right latitude but wrong side of the river, but I highly recommend: Best Tailoring 1547 University Blvd W, Jacksonville, FL 32217 (corner of San Jose/University) (904) 731-0866 They've worked on stuff for me and my wife, including hemming a pair of snow pants for her, which seemed very complicated, but they came out perfect.
