I am a very good balloon artist. One of the best in the area. I'm also a professional character actor. My website is: floridapartypirate.com. For a magician that I would refer, either Keith Ragor@(239) 352-5300 or Evans Entertainment@(239) 878-7531.
HELP! So truly depressed with not being able to find a book to grab my attention since finishing The Magician's Land....any suggestions?!?!?!
Lev G. replied:
I loved The Rook (that's getting a sequel). Also Catherynne Valente's Fairyland books, and Joe Abercrombie's The Heroes.

One of the first fantasy series I devoured a good chuck of was Dragonlance. I still have all my TSR copies from before Wizards of the Coast bought them. Maybe not a unique series in that it's much more derivative of Tolkien over all but I still found Wise and Hickman's characters to be endearing and their writing pulled me in more than Forgotten Realms. I've also been meaning to read House of Leaves. Not exactly fantasy but I've read a bit and it was interesting. I would also recommend The Secret Books. It's 3 short stories by Jorge Luis Borges with wonderful Polaroid transfers by Sean Kiernan to illustrate. More surreal than strictly fantasy but I found his wiring to certainty be magical. And of course, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Unfortunately I'm not up to much on modern fantasy, probably because I stated with the Magicians and now I'm in a similar problem so I'll be taking some of these suggestions too:)

I really liked "Special Topics in Calamity Physics" by Marisha Pessl. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3483.Special_Topics_in_Calamity_Physics

Ugh, Deborah Harkness. So good through the first two books and then shit the bed on the third. I love me som Neil Gaiman. American Gods, Neverwhere, Anasi Boys and Ocean at the End of the Lane are great. Also enjoyed Ransom Riggs.
Yes, Eric Naggar read The Rook. Took a break from Fantasy & Sci-Fi after Magician's Land (Read--"All the Light We Cannot See"-but need to get back into it----nothing compares!
