Many insurance companies will drop customers bases on claims. State Farm is famous for dropping people with only one claim, especially roof claims. They likely didn't single you out, it's just the way many insurance companies work now. A lot of companies won't even write insurance for you if you have had more than 2 claims in a 10 year period. It's ridiculous, i know, but it is not unusual.

Well, we have not made a claim yet, but we are also moving away from State Farm after over 25 years, when we move in 2018...based on our needs/situation, we have it narrowed down to Amica (they have been excellent, and came highly recommended to us), The Farm Bureau (we have German Shepherds and a lot of companies do not like them - have also been great to work with and answer questions...also cover out buildings and other things other companies do not include) or USAA (which does have qualifying restrictions). Our SF agent has been phenomenal all of these years (same guy), and had it not been for him, we would have left State Farm years ago....not the same company they used to be, but then again, so many are not these days...sigh....good luck in your search...not what you want to do at this time of year for sure!

We have American family. I have to say they cancelled my daughter because she had a wreck in the 1 st 6 months we were with them. Then tried to cancel my son because he wrecked his on ice no other car involved first time ever with a claim since he started driving at age 14 and he was 21 when it happened. Got them to renew him but not my daughter. Insurance companies I just do not get we have to have it but they will drop you on one claim.

http://maxinsurance.com/ If your home is less than 15 years old I don't think you'll get a cheaper price. I just quoted mine with one of the 'big guys' and it's about twice as much as what MAX is. Multi state company with home office in OP.
