Richard is correct. Bardstown is the place to stay. If flying in you will want a rental car to get around. There are 3 other distilleries (Heavin Hill, Willett, and Bartons 1792) right in Bardstown, two ( Jim Beam, Four Roses) outside of the city limits by 10 or 15 miles, along with Makers Mark in Loretto, and an artisan distillery (Limestone Branch) outside of Springfield which would be easy to hit on your way back to Bardstown.

Be sure to stop at Jim Beam Distillery, Barton Brands !792. Heaven Hill, and yes drive a little further south to Lebanon and visit the Limestone moonshine distillery after visiting Makers Mark in Loretto !!

And depending on when you are there..either keenland or Churchill downs..
