We ended up going to Dr Becky McGraw-Wall with Houston ENT. She was the best. She answered our many questions and allayed our fears. Resident Question: Has anyone had herniated disc surgery in town or in the Houston area? If so, what doctor did you use and would you recommend them? I'm looking for...
Brenda M. replied:
I had a lot more than that done on my neck; I would definitely go to Houston and dr. Thomas Mims is great and was ranked top 10 neck/back surgeries in Houston. His office is in the st. Luke's towers.
Deborah N. replied:
Dr David Wimberly at Fondren.
Ouida W. replied:
Dr Richard Harper@scurlock Tower. He has done this surgery on 8 of my family members
Brenda D. replied:
Dr, Jerry Bob Blacklock (neurosurgeon) in the med center with over 36 years experience. He did a complete disc replacement (insurance no longer allows this procedure) on my daughter when she was in her early 20's and she had great success with it, did my back surgery in 2012 and my husband had a fusion in his neck last week. If you're looking for the best...he's it, hands down! He did surgery on one of my doctors so that's how I chose him. He's hard to get into but well worth the wait. He is very upfront with you...if you need surgery he will tell you so but if you don't...he won't do it! My husband used Dr. MacDougal in 2006 but only got ok results. He's 1 week post-op today and has more movement in his neck than he ever did with the first fusion. Dr. Blacklock's # is (713) 441-3807. I hope you give him a try!

Resident Question: I am trying to find somewhere that does allergy testing in the Baytown/Mont Belvieu area. I called the Allergy & Asthma Specialists, but they don't...
Caroline G. replied:
Not sure if it's the same but we use Allergy & Asthma Associates. They used to be in Baytown (one office) but our Drs are in Webster and Houston now so I'm not positive that office is still there, but I think it is. My son and I have never been tested for meds though, just food, animals, and environmental stuff. I didn't know they did that. We have only been tested for ingredients found in certain meds. (My son had an egg allergy as a baby and his pedi asked that we have him tested for egg after we thought he outgrew it before letting him get the MMR bc it contains egg, even though our allergy dr said it should be fine either way and the egg test wouldn't give us a definite answer abt the allergy from just the skin prick.
Misty B. replied:
Allergy & Asthma Associates at Garth and I 10 are great!
Tina S. replied:
they have a Allergy clinic in the San Jacinto medical corp it's in the old hospital at the end of Garth on 146 end. Call 281-425-3800 and ask they may be able to help you
