Random silly question perhaps: what makes a photographer a good photographer? Skill? Gear? Personality? Whats your thoughts?

You get photo's from back in the film days that look awesome, as well as new cameras. I once read somewhere: "...upgrade your knowledge before you upgrade your camera...". And when taking pictures, ask yourself if your picture tells a story. I personally think the only reason you need a R 20 k (RSA) camera is because your income depends on it. In which cases for hobbyists, it doesn't. I shoot with a D3100 and am completely satisfied with it. Keep taking constant good quality photos and I think if you are goog or not depends on how you feel about yourself? Go to my page on fb: Thinus du Toit Photography and tell me what you think.
if anyone needs photos taken for any event, I highly highly recommend TANYA JACOBS she is by far the best photographer, don't waste your time with anyone else:-)
