Does anyone have any good recommendations for a veterinarian for my kitty? It's time for a check up and some shots, but I don't know the area well.

love Georgetown vet dr. Hadley and pepper. if looking reasonable the vet in greene think name is hagan or something like that is more reasonable than others
Joe A. replied:
We also had very good experience with Dr. Godine at Ruckersville AH, but it is a bit of a drive from here http://www.ruckersvillevet.com/
I rescued a dog by the side of the road on Friday - trying to do my best by her. I need two Greenies Pill Poppers - vet gave me antibiotics for her and some Popper...

Heidi D. replied:
I just was there last week. Great people. Let me k ow if you need ER vet info. They gave me that too.
Lanie T. replied:
We use Pantops vet!
Sandie S. replied:
We had to find a vet quickly and Happy Tails sent us in the right direction. We went to Pantops Vets and they were waiting at the door for us to get my sons pup. They saved his life. If we had tried to make it to the emergency hospital in Charlottesville he would not have made it. They were so caring and we were amazed at the great work they did
Ginger F. replied:
I use Gordonsville Vet and love them, but had an urgent care situation last weekend and used Autum Trails in town, I was very impressed.
We just moved in, in December and we REALLY need to find a good vet (shots due soon). Can anyone give me feedback on Crossroads Animal Hospital? Thanks in advance.
Kim S. replied:
We see Dr. Behar, and like him a lot. I've heard people say that they are expensive, but Extended evening and Saturday hours are worth any difference in price to me.

Deborah A. replied:
I love them! Dr. Behar is my dogs vet and he is wonderful, personable and thorough.
Pauline L. replied:
I like the care they give my animals. Very friendly. Less expensive then Charlottesville vets.
Jo W. replied:
My shih tzu loves Dr Davis. I have been going there for 3 years.
Colleen C. replied:
Love Crossroads!!! Dr Zeni & Dr Davis are awesome ☺ We have been going there since they opened. We have 4 cats & 4 dogs. One of our dogs have epilepsy so we are regulars.
Barbara O. replied:
If you go there go to Dr. Bejar, he's great. One of the other vets missed a malignant tumor in my dog. Another was pressing me to spend $400 to clean her teeth when she was dying.
Joyce M. replied:
Fork Union is great. I have been to Crossroads 3 times for different reasons. Was not favorably impressed any of the 3 times. The front desk staff was rude and uncooperative every time. The vets seemed to be both uncaring and "not in it for the animals".
Pat P. replied:
Love Crossroads Animal Hospital. The vets and technicians are awesome. Gracie loves Dr. Bejar.
Connie W. replied:
We Really like Dr Bejar! He has been very good with my 2 dogs.
Stephanie B. replied:
They are awesome. Dr. Davis is very professional, warm and great with my dogs and to top it off she and Dr. Behar(have not dealt with the other vets in the office) are not pushy.
Rachel D. replied:
Fork Union is great!!
D A. replied:
At Crossroads, i like Dr Bejar, no unnecessary or guilt trip treatments. Cannot in good conscience recommend Fork Union. Dr Grover on 20 in Keene is good and so is Dr George Belbey James River Animal Hospital in Scottsville.
Terri G. replied:
I'm disappointed that no one has mentioned Monticello Animal Hospital. After several disappointments at Fork Union going unaddressed, we switched to MAH. I would recommend Dr.Anderson because he is awesome, but EVERY vet there is terrific. The technicians are caring and very competent as well. The corporate connection, such as Fork Union has interfered too much with the important things concerning the care of our pets.
Christina F. replied:
The entire staff at Fork Union are amazing:) I liked Dr Bejar but Fork Union has my vote overall. I adore every person there:)
Ellen V. replied:
Dr Anderson at MAH performed Cherry Eye surgery in Liesel's left and right eyes and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat. He was caring, efficient, knowledgeable with a sweet disposition to boot.
Are there any good local veterinarians by the lake . We just need to establish a vet to go to the kids are not in need rite now but want to be ready if the need arises
Tina L. replied:
I am new here and I found Fork Union Vet. clinic on James Madison Hwy.
Darlene H. replied:
I've gone to Fork Union vet for 15 years. Love Kendra Phillman
We love the vets at Zions crossroads. I know several people who switched over to them too. They are professional, friendly, and when we had to put our 14 y.o. Golden down they were so kind. I do not think they are abusive regarding their fees either. Terri Kowbel i lost a golden to bloat many years ago. I use special bowls that are plastic and look like they have upturned solo cups in them. We feed Orijen dry food- great for teeth and allergies and Happy Tails now gets it since we asked. The bowls slow the dogs down as they must eat around the 3 upturned obstacles.
CJ G. replied:
Dr Davis at Crossroads.
D A. replied:
Dr Bejar Crossroads Animal Hospital, Dr Belbey James River Animal Hospital, Dr Stewert Pantops Animal Hospital. Piedmont Vet in Keene.
Teresa B. replied:
I use Pantops Animal Hospital for my dogs, and Dr. Teresa Olivo (Countryside Vet Services) for my cat. Doc Olivo does housecalls only, so my kitty doesn't have to travel.

Animal medical center on pantops for your normal occurrences And while a bit more expensive Dr Epstein at ivy animal hospital is the most versed intelligent and experienced vet I have ever encountered When any of my pets need surgery or something serious happens I always trust in him But the prices reflect his expertise and isn't always affordable
Jo W. replied:
Crossroads. Dr. Davis is great my dog...MiMi loves her.
I may have imagined this:
Is there a vet who will come to your house? I don't want to write this, but this time has come to put my lab down.
Linda S. replied:
Monticello Animal Hospital on 5 th Street Extended in CHO. Dr. Rose will make house calls and he is a very nice person and a great vet. There are other vets in that office, but I don't know if they all make house calls. He came to our house because our cat did not travel well.
Kelly G. replied:
Dr Palmer only does in home euthanasia.
Karen W. replied:
Dr Olivo
Lizz M. replied:
Countryside vet will. Piedmont will for large animals. Dr. Rose at Monticello will.
Cindy K. replied:
I'm so sorry. Dr. Teresa Olivo also makes house calls. Actually that's all she does. She doesn't have an office.
Kate B. replied:
Sage Veterinary Service handled me and my pet with dignity. She also assisted with cremation and returning the ashes to me. http://sageveterinaryservices.com

Dr. Olivo from countryside vet
Tamara S. replied:
I had Dr Rose put one of my dogs down as well. He was like my child and Dr Rose explained the whole process and let me be with him thru it all. Monticello Animal Hospital Dr Rose. He is a very caring vet.

Crossroads Animal Hospital is incredible for your pets! Tell them I referred you. They declawed my Anna and did an amazing job!
Tammy M. replied:
We took our kitty when we got him 6 years ago, to Fork Union Animal Clinic. They did it with lasers, so it wasn't as bad of a recovery for him. We also use them as our vet and sometimes have boarded our cat there; they express genuine care and knowledge, as far as we've experienced. I can't remember how much thought, but I remember calling around to get estimates.

I need some recommendations for a good vet for my seven-year-old cat. Anyone nearby who is reasonably priced, that someone could recommend? Any Dr. Pol's out there?
Cindy N. replied:
We love Dr. Babbitt and his team at Fork Union Animal Hospital. They're great with our dogs!

Countryside Veterinary Services. Theresa Olivo comes to you. She has been our vet for 23 years.

Crossroads Animal Hospital
Tamara A. replied:
Dr. Mouser is still practicing in Fluvanna, but I hear he's hard to reach.
HL H. replied:
Thats Cat Care. They only see cats. They are very good there and have a great groomer.
Susan M. replied:
Charlottesville Cat Care on Rte 29 North. The cats don't get freaked out since there are no barking dogs there. Dr. Mahane and Stacy are kind, compassionate and mist capable.
Wallace G. replied:
Pantops Vet next to McDonalds...they board also
Cheryl D. replied:
Crossroads Animal Hospital at Zion's Crossroad is also very good and reasonable, as vets go.
Mary A. replied:
I love Animal Medical Center of Cville - Pantops in the Food Lion shopping center. Dr. Schaeffer is wonderful!
From personal experience, every vet is expensive. I jump between Zion's Crossroads Animal Clinic and Fork Union Animal Clinic. But I prefer Fork Union. No hidden charges, Zion's preformed extra work without my consent and it was unneeded and cost me more for no reason.
Debbie K. replied:
Dr. Mouser is the best vet I know. He does not need expensive test to tell you what is wrong because in his 50 years of practice he has seen it all. there is not a baby in my house that he has not cared for or saved all for under 100.00
Michael J. replied:
Not if they are part of a for profit chain/franchise. Veterinarians like Dr Mouser who was retired and went back into practice when he moved to Fluvanna are not trying take money for a corporate structure but are following the higher path of providing a vital service to the community.
Mackenzie L. replied:
I love Dr. Mouser as well . Very well priced and doesn't try to take advantage of his customers. He'll always help if your animal is in need
Stephanie B. replied:
Crossroads Animal Hospital Dr. Davis and Dr. Bahart are awesome and will not guilt you into spending a ton of money

Shayna T. replied:
Maria Ryder, very valid excellent information!! The other thing that people don't realize is tractor supply sells vaccines and instructs on administration! For those that say they can't spend money at the vet, it costs roughly 4 dollars and protects the animals and families! Animals are fun, cute, and loving, but also carry large responsibility!
