Hey /r/pittsburgh does anyone have any recommendations for a good tailor somewhere around Pittsburgh? The title pretty much says it all. I'm looking for a good tailor...

I've heard good things about Rocky's in Bloomfield. I had some alterations done at Red Cap Cleaners in Greentree (Noblemanor) since I work nearby, they did an OK job. I've been meaning to try Rocky's though.

Go to Frank Genovese Jr., his office is in the Oliver building downtown. I brought a bridesmaid's dress to him a week before the wedding and thought I'd just need it let out, but that wasn't enough and the dress still didn't fit. I was so fucking worried. He ended up taking material from the lining inside the dress and adding it to the zipper line in the back - the dress fit **LIKE A DREAM**, and he didn't charge *nearly* as much as I was expecting for the quality of the work. [His father](http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04247/372776-122.stm) was an extremely popular tailor in Pittsburgh back in the day. Frank Jr. has upheld the reputation of their shop. He is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and his work is impeccable, I seriously can't recommend him enough.

I've used this guy for taking in pants waists. Very nice work: Ianni's Tailoring & Cleaning 5835 Forward Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217-2301 (412) 421-4433 I've used Northumberland Dry Cleaning for taking up pants hems. It went okay, but they forgot to use the extra fabric to make belt loops like they promised. I later used them to take in a few dresses and was not pleased. They just shortened the straps rather than refit the bust. Not thoughtful or well executed.
Laurie K. Charlton is the best! She's also my mom:) but not very active on fb, I would suggest giving her a call. She is on north ave

Karen L Dietrich all I need done is a pair of warmup pants for my daughter. They are sooooo long but I need to keep the length for when she grows into them, so I need them hemmed. Does that make sense?
