Ooooh do come to Chuchai! Right next door is Chuch which is the same thing as Chuchai (same kitchen, same food) only difference is Chuch has no reservations and it's bring your own wine plus we offer a counter with food already made for takeout! It's a cute place indeed! I recommend our crispy "duck" with spinach! omnomnom :3 plus we are a very friendly staff ^_^

Aux Vivres is a pretty good vegan restaurant. If you're heading in the Mile End, there is La Lumière du Mile End, a nice little place, unexpensive and very tasty. Close to there is Le Cagibi as well. Café Lola Rosa in the ghetto McGill is also very good. Check out http://www.happycow.net/, all the vegetarian places are listed

Bonny's on notre-dame is yummy (vegetarian), if you want both vegetarian and non options, you could also try chao phrya on Laurier which is the sister restaurant to chuchai or limone (also on notre dame) which is Mexican

There's a very good Taiwanese vegetarian restaurant on Rachel just east of St-Denis called [Su Shian Yuang](http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/775469). The owners are super nice.
