Need a little help with motorcycle repair Hey guys, so I recently got a 1985 Kawasaki KZ440 LTD for pretty cheap and was curious if you guys knew of any good motorcycle...

Anyone had any experience at Richmond Superbike? I heard the old techs from Motoeuropa opened that shop. If it's the old techs and service staff from Motoeuropa, they're top notch. http://richmondsuperbike.com/

Clean the carbs, check for spark and you should be good to go.

Don't take a motorcycle to a car shop. Sure they might remember carburetors, but who knows if they've ever worked on a bike before.
First off, ask for help at [/r/fixxit](http://reddit.com/r/fixxit) then try [kz forum](http://kzrider.com/forum/). Try to provide as much detail as possible. It's extremely common for a bike bought for cheap in the spring to need something like a new battery or the pilot jets to be cleaned, usually due to the idiot who owned it before you not properly winterizing it. It's not that hard a task, but if you're a newbie when it comes to wrenching, I wouldn't start tearing things apart. If you can work on a car, you'll realize how *easier* everything is on a bike. KZ's were really common in the 80's and parts are really cheap.
That being said, there's probably a few good shops around. I can't recommend any aside from Honda House (which I wouldn't take a Kawasaki to) since I do my own repairs.

I wouldn't take it to a shop blindly, or even on a recommendation. Find some people that ride and get to know them. Try to learn on your own and then from there take it to a friend's shop for things you can't do on your own.

http://www.ultimatecycle.net/ It's a kawasaki dealership that offers service as well, it's your best bet. I would not suggest velocity tho, they don't really give a shit about bikes that aren't cool vintage models.

I don't know if they do motorcycles but I will take my car to Jackson's Exhaust on Cary St for anything and everything. They're super nice and good at what they do. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call and see if they can do motorcycle stuff. http://jacksonsexhaust.com/
