Kids Korner at the JCC has after school care (your child can be bused from school to the JCC) - they also have vacation programs & "snow day" programming. Look into Aiken to see if they have a before school program. Many families use an after school sitter that comes to their house so that they can drive kids to after school Activities
Anne V. replied:
I had luck on care.com.
Pamela H. replied:
The JCC is great, they have both daycare and after school options (with busing from Aiken). The JCC, while not cheap, is a great deal because you are getting an amazing program, plus access to the facilities and other programs. WHEE II is an after school program held right at Aiken. They usually have a waiting list, but I am not sure if that's the case now, so give them a try. It's very reasonably priced. 860-233-8785 for WHEE.

Rose Clark may have openings

Whee at Aiken has a 1 year wait list right now. I've used girls from St Joseph's as babysitters- they are close and have been great (you can create a flyer with job description and email it to info@usj.edu and they will post it for 6 weeks on the jobs board)

We are at The Learning Experience in Berlin (it is just off Route 9) which is very convenient. The classes are super small and they just opened last fall so they have space for immediate openings. 860-224-0411 - talk to Shanleigh or Sam

fyi, Knight Hall is fantastic - they take babies each fall who will be turning 1 by end of December, but they are already full for this year (my older son just 'graduated' and I'm in line to get my new baby in there).

We used Educational Playcare in Farmington (right over WeHa line) - they are opening a WeHa location at the old Noah ' s Ark

We liked Bright Horizons on Cottage Grove Across from Cigna. Only went there one year before we got into St Joes School for Young Children. Bright Horizons is expensive but not as much as St Joes if you go full time.

I'll also recommend Educational Playcare in Farmington -- the staff is excellent, and the facility is gorgeous, especially the toddler playground.

We used KinderCare Learning Center on the WH/Farmington line just past UCONN for both our sons (now older). Both literally from 6 months all the way through their pre-school program, which is excellent. We haven't been there for 3 years now, but when we were there, the staff were excellent, the place was incredibly clean, the educational and social programs were very good and totally prepared them for Kindergarten and elementary school. The Center Director is Erin Barone, you should call her for a tour. 860-677-1810 (she's been there for as long as my children were there, and my oldest is 10!)

First Church Nursery School in WH - less expensive than St. Joe's and just as fabulous. School does not teach religious doctrine - it just uses the church's space.

I also DO NOT recommend Educational Playcare. My daughter spent two weeks at the one in farmington when she was an infant and I moved her immediately to Kindercare on south road where we have been extremely happy for the past two and half years.
Betsy U. replied:
Good question. I actually am. It sure. I can tell you we are paying less than we paid at First Church and soccer shots, etc, was not included there.
