Pediatrician referrals in Orem, UT from Jan 16, 2014
Jennifer P. asked:
Utah Valley mamas... do you have recommendations for a pediatrician? Please tell me why you recommend the dr. I have a few weeks to research little miss small fry's next dr... (Preferably Orem or Provo, though we've happily traveled for her amazing OB)
Cassie K. answered:
Dr Kendall and Wynn are partners in the same office on 800 north at Timpanogos hospital.
Megan L. answered:
John Wynn at utah valley pediatrics cherry tree office. Been going to home for years and he is great!!!
Cassandra R. answered:
She is going to be one pretty baby!
Tonya L. answered:
Dr Shawn McManus! He's in our ward! He's amazing! He's helped us with late nights before! He has an office on the border of Lehi & Saratoga Springs! Might be a bit far, but he is worth it!
Tonya L. answered:
And I'm so excited for your little princess to arrive
Cori C. answered:
Dr Sarah Connors Petersen is a pretty darn good pediatrician. (Of course I have no bias) but your have to travel to the U if U South Jordan clinic.
Tara S. answered:
I have to agree with Jeffrey Jensen, even though I have never lived in Utah, but he's my cousin, and a very amazing man!
Lindsay D. answered:
We switched peds early on to dr. Doug hacking in Orem and I'm forever grateful we did! I have never seen a man so gentle with my baby (besides Darren obvs) and he always answers all my concerns and questions.
Jill S. answered:
Dr. John Wynn--He is the very best. He has taken care my grandchildren. He has been recommended by my sister who is a pediatric nurse. He is in my ward, and has been our bishop. He is kind, conservative, conscious, capable and always available. He is in Orem on 400 West and Center street. I would be happy to give more specifics if needed. You will be confident your baby will be well taken care of.
Megan J. answered:
Jeff Jensen is our pediatrician, too! And Dr. Hacking and Dr. Wynn are also part of Utah Valley Pediatrics. We really like UVPeds because if you can't get into your own doc, there are always others--even in other locations. Plus they have late hours and a doctor is always on call.
Jennifer P. answered:
Thank you everyone! I'm verifying who is on our insurance. (many of these drs are) Just to clarify: Emily, Joni, Lindsay, Jill, and Megan... Drs Hacking, Jensen and Wynn are all listed as being at Utah Valley Peds but there are 3 different addresses. 171 N 400 w in Orem, 1355 N University in Provo, and 716 W 800 N Orem. (All listed as Utah Valley Pediatrics). Do the doctors work together and move to the 3 offices?
Megan J. answered:
Nope, the doctors are attached to their offices. You can make appointments at any of them in a pinch. I live near the Cherry Hill location (where hacking and wynn are) and have taken a really sick kid over late when I really wanted her seen quickly. But we almost always just go to Dr. Jensen in Provo. I like that it is close to work.
Cecile T. answered:
I like the "little miss small fry" reference in your posting:)
Jenafer B. answered:
Dr. Moskowitz with ABC pediatrics in draper is amazing and well worth the drive. My boys love playing "dr Pete"
Emily K. answered:
We love ours! Dr. Jeffrey Jensen at Utah Valley Pediatrics here in Provo north of the new CVS Pharmacy on Univ. Ave. Other moms I know that have other doctors in that group have really liked them.
Joni M. answered:
I second Utah Valley Pediatrics. All of our children have gone there.
Cassie K. answered:
I really like Melissa Kendall with Utah Valley pediatrics. She has been our pediatrician for 15 years. She is a mom of 6, she "gets it" and she is thorough.
Emily K. answered:
I really like the 24 hr nurse hotline and the fact that they have doctors on call for late night problems.
Lisa B. answered:
Shelly savage Grandview family medicine(family practice). Mom of 5. She knows her stuff. She knows women and kids. She delivered three of my four babies. She's wonderful. Not sure if she's taking new patients. I also love the one stop shop. She was my doc too.
Kylee H. answered:
Doctor Paxton in Spanish Fork has been amazing! We've had a few issues when Daxton was first born and he was always able to call or answer my questions!
Tiffany M. answered:
I agree with Cassie, Melissa Kendall with Utah Valley pediatrics is fantastic! A friend of mine was a NICU nurse for 14 years in the valley and claims Dr. Kendall to be the best pediatrician.
Jackie K. answered:
I really love heather Harrison at central Utah clinic in Provo. The thing that is so great about her is that she is my doctor and Henrik's dr. She is a DO, so she delivered him, helped me, and now does his check ups. Super cool if you ask me. And she's probably around your age, has kids of her own, so she gets it. But I am sure you can't go wrong with anyone' suggestions!
Emily K. answered:
Dr. Jensen is at the Provo office where I previously mentioned.
Annalee C. answered:
Dr Matt Clayton. He's in my ward...your stake. He's awesome!
Ronald M. answered:
Jenn, the best pediatric dr in the West is Gordon Glade in AF. We raised all five of ours in Utah and no others came close. He is the best
Ronald M. answered:
Tell him I sent you. I also taught his daughter in seminary.
