Heather M. asked: Since I've made a habit of crowd sourcing my life lately, here's another one for you: anyone have a dermatologist recommendation? Not for cosmetic reasons. I need to have my skin screened, and I'm waaayyyy overdue. Looking for a dermatologist in Jersey Shore, Monmouth Medical or Centrastate, in that order. I'd really prefer not to see a PA, but it seems like that's what most dermatologists do these days. Anyone?

Jen K. answered: When I had general insurance, not medicaid, I used to look through here for doctors: http://njmonthly.com/sections/topdoctors/index.html Also the Vitals app is good for doctor search & reviews!

Catherine C. answered: get murad it works better than any dermatologist stuff I ever used

Heather M. answered: Not for cosmetic reasons...I personally don't like Murad (too many harsh chemicals). I like Dr. Haushka. I used to have oily skin and I started using their face oil and it completely changed my skin. I look 10 years younger than I am. But I need to get a skin cancer screen.

Kristine M. answered: I love Dr. Barry Weiner in Little Silver. He's gruff and frank and works fast. And he tells it like it is, which I appreciate. He removed a precancerous area for me in the spring. I know he's not close though!

Heather M. answered: Close as in distance? That doesn't really matter to me. I'd rather find a good doctor that I like. I haven't found many practices in the Centrastate network that I like. In fact, I don't think we see any doctors in this area, except our PCP. And we don't like him all that much, haha.

Cori L. answered: One of the best is Dr. Orsini in Monmouth. Forget exact location. My dad has had skin cancer numerous times and he travels to see him from va every 6 months. Message me if you want and I will get you all the info

Jen K. answered: Let me know when you find someone you like. I went to DermOne in Freehold and wasn't too satisfied..maybe because I came from having one of the best dermatologists in Livingston when I lived up in North Jersey! LOL

Kimberlee H. answered: I second Dr. Orsini and Dr. Gilson in West Long Branch. I saw Gilson for years and Orsini a few times.
