Just wondering... Are these recommendations from personal experience? I'm a bit nervous- since it's a prom dress and you only get one shot at altering this type of dress... Not too much excess material and very delicate fabric...

Jin altered a wool coat for my daughter, she did an amazing job. Her work was perfect. Some of my friends use her for hemming their pants and skirts all the time. You may also want to inquire at Chamonix Rhinebeck, they have and or know someone who works on gowns.
