Contractor referrals in Golden, CO from Jul 22, 2014
Janet V. asked:
Hey Colorado friends! We are seeking a general contractor to help us remodel two bathrooms. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Janet V. answered:
Thanks Susan!
Janet V. answered:
Mostly, we need help with dry wall and tile work for the floor and shower. We also need to install a vent where there currently isn't one. No plumbing work needed.
Amanda H. answered:
Adam Mitchell can you help?
Fred O. answered:
George can build you a really cute two seater outhouse!!! i bet he could make it look just like a bluebird house!!
Roman L. answered:
You could crap outside like the bears
Janet V. answered:
Wow. Everyone is sooooo helpful!
Jill W. answered:
I was thinking the same thing, Janet. I'm sorry the only person I know isn't even sort of close to your area.
Janet V. answered:
Thanks, Jill! At least someone besides Amanda Hill Harquail cares.
Jill W. answered:
"Funny" has its place...that place is not when a real question is posed.
Susan C. answered:
I care. I just don't know anyone in Colorado that can help you. Hop eyou find someone!!
Jill W. answered:
I'd love to send Ryan to help, but drywall was the one thing we hired out when we finished our houses, and he swore he's never tiling again.
Janet V. answered:
Jill, it is because I have listened to people like you, who have husbands like Ryan, that I'm ok not learning these particular skills on my own.
Jill W. answered:
You're a smart woman.
Jill W. answered:
And bathrooms aren't easy.
Fred O. answered:
Uncle Fred has said skills and does care but because of geographical and livestock considerations...well my initial reaction is to be a smartass....if you dont have it done in ten yrs when i sell my cows and rentals i will come help
Fred O. answered:
also from past experience ....whenever remodeling any bathroom that is anywhere past the teen yrs.....there WILL BE plumbing issues. Put some $$ in your contingency plan for that....
Jodi M. answered:
Do you have an Angie's List? Use one of those. Make sure any workers are licensed (and bonded?). Don't pay 100% up front. Would a local Lowe's be able to refer a list of contractors who work with them, even though they don't work officially for Lowe's?
Jodi M. answered:
Any potential of mold issues even with your low humidity? If so, be prepared for mold remediation.
