Can anyone recommend a cheaper way to go about filing my US taxes? I don't have 2000 for an accountant at the moment, and I have heard there is a website where it can be done manually. Advice please? Thanks in advance!

I use taxact.com. There is a help bar and you Can always Google anything you're not sure about.

I used the standard tax software for years, and it worked great. If in doubt, considering asking an accountant to review it.

H&r block is free for filing federal taxes and I believe it's $10 to file state. All can be done online through e-filing and they have chat support. I'm I'm California aND have used it the past 5 years. Open a "basic" account and you're good, if it's just a couple of w-2 s and other basic stuff. Good luck!
