Dana P. asked: Hi everyone. I am looking for a good, reasonably priced vet in Huntsville. My previous vet was in the county, and is just too far out of the way. I currently live in NE Huntsville close to 5-points.

Nikki W. answered: Governors Choice

Jessie P. answered: Chase. By far the least expensive, but caring vet. It's really not that far from 5 Points.

Kayla S. answered: That's very true, they have difficult jobs and sometimes pet owners and a vet's personality just don't mix well. I also found they aren't to gentle or understanding when it comes to my deaf dog so I decided that I personally wouldn't go back.

Alicia S. answered: Chase, they are good, I'm sorry you had a bad expedient, they do have 4 vets in there. I used to be a vet tech so I'm very particular on where my babies go and am a lot of questions about the way they work. I've been with Chase 8 years now.

Kayla S. answered: I have to agree flint river is pretty good as well, although I've only had one experience with them so far.

Rachel R. answered: I just started going to Northway Animal clinic on North Parkway near Krispy Kreme. I had previously been going to Governor's Choice.

Alicia S. answered: Northway is good too, I used to work there.

Toni B. answered: Bentley animal hosp . Dr Hulsey

Dana P. answered: Thanks for all the input! And I appreciate all the suggestions. I was thinking about trying Governor's Choice, and since most have had good experiences, I think I will start there.

Kayla S. answered: I love Chase, it may be a little far for you though. My family has used governors choice in the past, but have found that recently it wasn't as nice and the communication just wasn't there anymore. If you can make the drive I'd definitely suggest Chase.

Kayla S. answered: Good luck Dana Parker I hope you have a very good experience.

Wendy B. answered: Is chase to far out? Flint river is there and I use Banfeild at Petsmart jones valley. I have a wellness plan that saves me tons of money and it includes teeth cleaning once a year. They have different levels of plans so you can scale it to your needs. I have the highest level. I have an older dog.

Kayla S. answered: She mentioned she had some bad experiences with chase Wendy Forsythe Brightwell. Glad that you mentioned the health plans that are offered at the vet in petsmart, I'm sure many people, like myself, didn't know about that.

Wendy B. answered: Kayla Stuart. I have had my plans for a very long time. I started when they first opened when I had three dogs (I had my sons college dog also), my dear Missie, black lab was diagnosed with severe hypothyroidism. I can't tell you how much money this plan saved me. In addition when that time came, Missie had an agree dive and rare form of cancer and when my golden just aged out to the point she could not stand up by herself, the included a huge discount for end of life and I was able to have them cremated and ashes returned to me. I now have plans for my current babies.

Brandi K. answered: Doorstep DVM; Dr. Michelle Ashman; comes to you and she is really great. I've used Governors Choice and Chase in the past but I would not leave Dr. Ashman until she closes the door.

Jessie P. answered: When I lived in 5 Points, I could get to Chase in 7 minutes. You just hop on 565 near Oakwood and Andrew Jackson and boom, you're there!
Facebook reviewer avatar
Dana P. answered: I've had a few bad experiences with Chase in the past.
Facebook reviewer avatar
Jessie P. answered: Huh. I've never had any issues with them. That's a shame.
Facebook reviewer avatar
Kayla S. answered: Then maybe try governors choice, they're worth a shot. Maybe they have shaped up in the past couple years. I personally wouldn't go back, but obviously everyone has a different experience and some people love them.

Heaven M. answered: Red Barn Animal Hospital. Husband and wife team, it's on Old Railroad Bed, They are awesome

Nikki W. answered: I'm sure everyone has issues with every vet at some point. Governors choice saved my dogs life two years ago. She caught pneumonia and declined very quickly. Ended up losing 20 lbs. She stayed at their office on an iv for 8 days. The staff there can be a little stiff at times but you just have to remind yourself of the things they must go through daily.
