Joanne B. answered:
Seems funny to have a shortage. ..guess I should ask the state as they've cut down a bunch of trees along the highways...LOL. Thank you all for your suggestions....we will keep searching.
Lisa D. answered:
Whoever you do go with make sure they are selling a cord or a fraction of a cord. Companies selling "a truck load" or anything described as something other than a cord are probably not the most reputable nor are they following the regs for selling wood. We had one company deliver and it was green wood and we made them take it back as some of it wasn't even hard wood. Definitely inspect it before they unload and pay the extra $25/30 to have it stacked to make sure you receive what you pay for, we've gotten burned in the past. There is information online about how to find a reputable wood seller as there is a consumer protection agency out there for wood being used as a heat source. I want to say we've used Hollister's in the past. They aren't advertising having wood right now though from what my husband said. Good luck!
