Jovana S. asked: Anyone know how what I should ask for at a Serbian pharmacy if I need antihistamine ?

Sinisa R. answered: Claritine, aerius

Zach N. answered: Ask for Xyzal.

Maja Z. answered: I stopped using it, i am alergy free, at last...

Jovana S. answered: I have a spider bite, that has grown ginormous (probably spurred my insistent scratching), friend recommended I take an antihistamine ... perhaps a visit to the doc is in order. no idea.

Zach N. answered: An antihistamine might help. I have a few spider bites right now and my Xyzal is helping but it varies from person to person

Ciprian D. answered: My business is about patient education. Don't be fooled by the fact that most of these products are OTC classified, they are still drugs. (by the way, Aerius is the only drug suitable for nursing patients, and that's self explanatory).

Jovana S. answered: Just found out from my brothers gf mom that it's a tiger mosquito ...:) Hehe, she's making me a remedy for bites! Thanks all:) (natural remedies for the win!)

Mirjana V. answered: same thing happened to me - lasted for a few days - I took antihistamine (loratadine based - presing, flonidan, claritin - those are all different brands with that same active ingredient) - but i do agree that xyzal is probably the best option. i iced the spot as well - helped with the swelling - and put some honey on it (natural remedy:D).

Ciprian D. answered: For a bug bite which a topic treatment makes it go away... No (more) comment...
Facebook reviewer avatar
Lisa M. answered: ask for "Loratidin", that's the same as Claritin!
Facebook reviewer avatar
Sinisa R. answered: against alergy

Mirjana V. answered: It could be harmless - but if she asked for antihistamines - and the word 'ginormous' was there - def. not small... Don't be lulled into thinking that bug bites are 'just' bug bites. everyone reacts differently, plus, this Asian Tiger mosquito transmits more than 20 diseases... not a reason to panic, but to be careful if the entire area swells up - like my entire hand did...

Jovana S. answered: Mirjana Mia Vukovic well that makes me uber concerned... what kind of diseases do they pass on o.O
Facebook reviewer avatar
Ciprian D. answered: Finally it's getting really interesting! I would love to know which those diseases are.:)

Mirjana V. answered: I'm not trying to be preachy - hope it didn't come across as such - I just got freaked out by my bite and wanted to help out another fellow sufferer:D My bite went away after a week - 2 days really bad looking. Jovana - I did say - no panicking! hehe:D But if you want to know more - internet is at your disposal - however, maybe look at it AFTER your bite is gone:D We all know too much info can be bad and misleading. However, mosquitoes carry viruses and bacteria - common knowledge - the 'more than 20 diseases' info - actually from an article - not sure which now. Dengue fever and encephalitis - definitely among them. Rash and allergic reaction - also often mentioned, so... I'd like to believe the mosquitoes here are somehow less dangerous even though these tiger ones are not locals:P

Mirjana V. answered: ok, just chuckled at myself - talking about bites - with my vamp bites profile pic hehehe:D

Sinisa R. answered: or xyzal

Zach N. answered: Claritin (Cetirizine) and Aerius are 2 nd generation Antihistamines whereas Xyzal (Levocetirizine) is a 3 rd generation Antihistamine which has less side effects and tends to be more effective.

Maja Z. answered: Pressing

Ciprian D. answered: For God sake, ask a doctor first. Zach Nicodemous, don't ever offer medical advice based on internet research. Self medication is a killer.
Facebook reviewer avatar
Zach N. answered: Its not internet research. Its experience. I have been taking antihistamines for 12 years.
Facebook reviewer avatar
Zach N. answered: Pressing is the same as Claritin, just a non-brand version. I think its slightly cheaper.
Facebook reviewer avatar
Sinisa R. answered: same price
