Billie F. asked:
Recommendations for local roofers and is it normal to ask for 50% of the job before it started
Mike J. answered:
Try Koch out of, I believe Tremont, or maybe Doerr siding. 50% is way to much, especially if insurance is involved. I've never had a company ask me, nor have I ever asked anyone as an electrician, for any money down. If they say they need the money to buy materials, stay clear.
Billie F. answered:
Thanks Mike

I just used Extreme Exteriors. They were awesome. Gary Maulden is the owner, 309-634-9863. They do commercial as well as residential, out of Peoria I think. They won't try to oversell, and of course are licensed and insured.

Thanks Sue we just don't know who to call appreciate all comments

Smith Remodeling. Shawn Smith 360-5956. Did an excellent job on our roof and our neighbors. No pay until job is complete. He is certified with the shingle company. Workers were polite and worked extremely hard to finish quicker.

I have used Phil King of Tremont for roofing and been very happy. Probably will be using him again now. (He works closely with State Farm, should you have insurance with them.)
