Pat B. asked: Any recommendations for probiotics - lots of reviews online - anyone taking 1MD? Doctor suggested refridgerated but online reviews say no - you can't be sure they have been stored properly & could be dead before they get to you. Thanks in advance.

Jessica H. answered: My natural doctor recommended these, she said they are the best you can get. I can't remember what I paid but they are expensive. I got them at CVS, you have to ask the pharmacy because they are stored in their refrigerator.

Pat B. answered: Thank you Emily McCuddy Krook - I will compare all recommended brands - so far they all seem to offer pretty much the same, that's what makes it hard to pick one - thank you for taking time to respond, i appreciate it.

David T. answered: Commercial probiotics have been described as being like a colony of mice, which after being raised in a lab for 20 or 30 generations, is suddenly released into the Amazon jungle. The survival rate is about zero. I am a firm believer in probiotics, but believe natural is better. Yogurts, kimchi. saurkraut. kombucha and other fermented foods are good. Almost all raw organic veggies carry beneficial bacteria even after washing. The suppliments won't hurt you, but any lasting value is questionable, and they aren't cheap.
