Bike Shop referrals in Holly Springs, NC from Aug 25, 2017
Daniel L. asked:
Hello, TeamCBC.
We need your help to make this weekend's intro event a success. Please help us grow our membership.
We are hoping to see many cycling newbies coming to the brewery at 1 PM for the advertised introductory ride.
If you are staying to socialize, please join me in welcoming these new potential members to TeamCBC, and riding one or more of our short introductory loops with us.
The attached flyer has been put up at bike shops throughout Cary, Apex, and Chapel Hill.
I want to see some TeamCBC enthusiasm in the comments here - if you will print out a copy and take it to other bike shops in your area, be it Raleigh, or Durham, or anywhere else you frequent, please comment that you will.
And the really difficult ask is... who will volunteer to stop at local restaurants & breweries to put up copies?
I'll put the currently posted locations in the comments, and ask that you please add your own.
TeamCBC needs your help to continue to thrive; please do what you can.
Thanks.
-Dan

I've posted at All Star Bike Shop in Cary, Cycle Surgeon, Cycling Spoken Here, Inside Out Sports, Performance in Cary, REI in Cary, and The Bicycle Chain in Apex. In addition, I tried Dicks Sporting Goods in Cary without success (no community events board to which I could contribute). I succeeded at Dicks in Apex. Restaurants: Anna's Pizza Apex and Brew & Cue Apex are both done, as is Moe's in Apex. Last but not least: BruePrint in Apex (where I twisted the arms of some of their run club members), and Southern Peak in Apex.

Highest on the to-do list: CBC Taproom (was closed when I tried). After that, any bike shops or slightly-higher-than-department-store bike retailers. Then breweries / taprooms / restaurants. I also tried Harris Teeter in Apex; they have no such board and disallow posting.
Nancy C. answered:
Lowe's foods in Holly Springs used to have a community bulletin board right by the front doors
Daniel L. answered:
Am I hearing a volunteer, Nancy?:-) I have done a bunch of running around to this point - I need to hand that responsibility off. If you're not game, we must have members in that area...

I have been a member for a couple of years now but with exception of riding with a couple of people on the Neuse River trail ( in my back yard), have not ridden with the group. Finally got myself a road bike earlier this year but have done nothing more than up to the lake and back ( 22 mile round trip) with a 15 minute stop at the lake. Averaging about 13.5 -14 mph. Haven't thought I was ready yet to ride with the team but would love to try one of the intro rides. First I saw Sundays event was today and already have plans for this weekend. Will there be more of these rides coming or are 10-12 mile rides available every time? If you could message me an answer, that would be great. Still have a pair of Team shorts sitting at the brewery I purchased last year!! Thanks
