Christine O. asked: I have friends coming over from the UK in 2 weeks' time. Can anyone recommend a great place for German food in Nuremberg. Also looking for other restaurant recommendations in general (not necessarily German). All tips welcome. Thanks.

Chelle J. answered: We had a work dinner in Hutt’n. It’s traditional fränkische food (I don’t think there was Currywurst). It has a nice cozy atmosphere and apparently is always booked. Www.huettn-Nuremberg.de

Chelle J. answered: We also went to heilige Geist Spital in Nürnberg. Also fränkische food slightly nicer and more varied menu I think. Bernd says for good Currywurst, you have to go to Berlin or north. This area isn’t really for Currywurst.

Silke C. answered: The Currywoschdhaus in Fürth has good food but is rather small so if you are a travelling with a large group might wanna call ahead. As the name suggest..they only serve Currywurst ;-)

Anna M. answered: If you look for something typically German (or even better Frankonian) I can suggest Barfusser (quite touristic but good also in the opinion of the locals as its high traffic of clients grants always fresh food). In alternative I liked very much also the Dürer Stube: tiny and characteristic! For something more modern, try Fränkness in the city center: they use typical Frankonian ingredients rearranged to create something new...I would dare to call it fusion cousine between German and Italian. And as Italian I am quite picky with food but their pizza is definitely one of the best in town for its dull!

Charlotte G. answered: Dürer Stube is where we always take our international colleagues when they visit. Very small so definitely reserve.

Wendy L. answered: Schäufelewärtschaft is not in tourist area but provide very good traditional pork dishes. Highly recommend their Schäufele. Very reasonable price too.

Charlotte S. answered: We always take guests to Bratwurst Röslein. It's right near the hauptmarkt so you can see the sights and the food menu is pretty varied but traditional.
