I'm interested in doing winery tours in the local area. And preferably with a tour bus. I see vans driving around to local wineries. What companies do you recommend?

Going to be in Portland, OR next month and would like some suggestions for a winery to check out in willamette valley for a tasting and tour. never been to Oregon...

My wife and I have been to The Willamette Valley many times. I would suggest the following spots: * Antica Terra (you'll need a reservation, but it is worth it) * Do a Provisions Tasting at Soter Mineral Springs Ranch (until $100 with tasting/food...also need a reservation) * Archery Summit (the cave is Oregon's only one which is open to the public...need a reservation) * White Rose (fantastic Pinot...cute, quaint tasting room...but no view and limited tour options) * Evening Land (tasting room only, and offsite...but great wine) * Domaine Serene (gorgeous spot, great wine...but overpriced) * Ken Wright (a lot of people don't like him...understandably so...but the wine is fantastic) * Chehalem (call ahead and do the tasting at the winery, not the offsite tasting room) * Beaux Frères (need an appointment) * Trisaetum (a bit off the beaten path, but worth it...they make the best Riesling in Oregon) * Cristom (known for whole cluster Pinots, but all-in-all, very good wine...go here if you cannot get to Archery) I also suggest The Red Hills Market in Dundee for lunch, but if on a weekend, arrive before noon or after 1:30PM. If you plan on drinking versus spitting for your tastings, I would suggest getting a driver. We've tried several different firms, but our favorite was PinotCar ([https://www.pinotcar.com/](https://www.pinotcar.com/)) Enjoy The Willamette!

Check out Cana’s Feast and Troon our in Carlton if you like bigger reds. Cana’s Feast will give you a taste for Columbia valley wines. Troon’s fruit comes from Applegate Valley in southern Oregon.

I was there in August and had a wonderful time at Eyrie vineyards in Dundee. Very relaxed atmosphere and amazing wine, they were the first to plant Pinot noir in Oregon back in the 60 s!

Honestly, if you're staying in Portland and just looking to do one tasting, Ponzi was a great suggestion. They are one of the closest wineries to the city. Dick and Nancy are OG's, the facility is amazing and they will accommodate tasting and a tour for under $100. If you finish and decide you want to make another stop, Raptor Ridge and Hawk's View are in close proximity.

Might I also suggest Washington County for some wine places. http://www.winetouroregon.com/wash_county_wineries.htm Ponzi, Raptor Ridge, and Helvetia wineyards are good and not too expensive.

Portland, OR winery recommendations - Late May Hi All,
I'll be spending 2 nights in Portland at the end of May and my SO and I would love some winery recommendations...

When you say “end of May” do you mean around Memorial Day? If so, that’s one of the bigger wine weekends around here, and a handful of places that don’t normally open to the public will be doing open houses, like Eminent Domaine or Big Table Farm. If you’re not planning your trip on the holiday (and even if you are) def try to make an appt with Patricia Green Cellars. Beaux Freres is great too (although like White Rose they can be a little pretentious). Alexana and Furioso, in the Dundee hills have both great wines and good people. If you don’t mind a slightly longer drive, the setting at Coeur De Terre (Mcminnville foothills) is great.
scuba_davis replied:
undeniably the Eyrie Vineyards. you would be an absolute fool to go anywhere else before you went to Eyrie. One of the greatest and most historic in willamette.

Make sure to grab a bite at Red Hills Market in Dundee. All great recommendations on this thread, Sokol Blosser, Torii Mor and Vista Hills will be my adds. White Rose and Soter as mentioned previously are well worth stops. Enjoy Oregon!

Evesham Wood, Christom, Brooks especially if you're into rieslings and aromatic whites, Adelsheim, St Innocent, White Rose, Alexana, Bryn Mawr. If you're into more of a new world style I'd focus on the Yamhill-Carlton and Dundee Hills Ava's, if you're looking for more acidic and funky stuff go to Eola Amity, it's super underrated in my opinion!

If I recall correctly, we did some tasting in White Salmon WA and Hood River OR. Both are about an hour out of Portland. I cannot recall which wineries we went to however. Also the Willamette Valley has some good wines around the Dallas/Salem Area.

Stoller. Very nice place to visit, very nice wines.

Tumwater is also great! It sits on a pond in the Pete’s mountain area (about 30 min from downtown Portland) and they have some lovely flights. You get to choose your favorite from the flight for a full glass, which is included in the tasting. Sometimes they have live music. :) I always take friends who are visiting from out of town there!
I'm looking for a winery that offers a private room for a wedding shower, in the Newberg or Dundee area. Any suggestions before I call every winery in Yamhill county?
Does anyone know if any of the wineries sell used wine barrels?
