I'd recommend some alternative stuff like Deftones, Nu like System of a Down, Death like The Black Dahlia Murder or The Faceless, Progressive like the Contortionist or Between the Buried and Me, Metalcore like Killswitch Engage (although I have the feeling you already know them).
