Little up the road near Sterling, but Drake's Auto has always been fair and a good price when I've shopped around for work.

The Sunoco on Rt-29 (next to the Post Office and Trader Joes) seems pretty decent. I had an issue with my car, and they suggested I save money by buying the parts online. I brought the parts by with my car and they installed them. Their labor price was pretty reasonable and they appeared to be honest.

a very good family friend owns Chantilly Service Center (if you remember post, https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/4 dqsm7/after_fairfax_police_ticket_cars_awaiting_state/) Bruce wont rake you over the coals and will only fix what is needed at the time. Very easy to work with. (703) 263-7208

If you're willing to go to Manassas, I highly suggest Complete Auto Care. I've been going there for years and they have a 5 star rating on Google, for a reason. Kevin is awesome. If not there, Sudley Auto Care is just as good. I have a run-down, end-of-its-life vehicle there now that they've put at least a couple hours into that may not be worth fixing. They've let me keep it there for a few days while I'm looking for a new vehicle and aren't charging me for any of the work they've done so far.

Good thread and thanks to everyone for the tips. All I've had are negative experiences (Sunset Hills Automotive in Reston) so this is helpful.
Chantilly Repair Center - Omar is the most honest and affordable mechanic I've ever met. He turns down business if it means saving the customer money, and he's a stand up guy. I always take my car to him if its something I can't do myself.
I love my mechanic is the freaking best! My roomie took her car to another repair station and they quoted her a $1600 bill. I told her relax and take it to my shop with...
