Out B. asked:Hey, we're looking for an inhome carer for our 20month old son on Monday & Tuesday 9am to 5pm in Napier. We have already met 6 carers, 5 of which did not suit our family. We're looking for someone who is gentle and naturally inclined, we really believe in gentle parenting. Someone who is happy to cuddle our child to sleep and yet happy to let him play and get dirty like boys do (rain or shine). We also need this person to be very careful with food as he has many allergies (gluten, dairy and eggs are the main ones). Care must start by the 29th of May so time is running out and starting to get a little stressed. The first carer we met was was just what we were looking for but she only had space for one of our children so our eldest is with her. Unfortunately have not had luck finding anyone similar. We're not looking for perfect, just looking for someone who has a similar mind frame/parenting style to us. Out B. asked:Im needing full time, live in child carer for two very happy wee girls 1 and 3. I'm just wondering if anyone has used an au pair and if so how much is the going rate to pay them per week? I would only need someone for two months as I recover from a second major surgery to be done within the space of three months, that will involve me not being able to lift anything (especially the kids) for at least six weeks. Well some people came forward and said that he could have some kind of sensory issues. Since then I've been pushing to have him seen. I tried GP but she said he's already been seen by a paediatrician if there was something she would have noticed. Thing is she was dealing with possible allergies not behaviour & paediatrician referred us to a dietitian. So I left the dr feeling sad & angry and not knowing what else to do. Not long after that GP visit I was phoned by Plunket to come have his 2 year old check up. At that appointment I was telling her what I was dealing with & she said she could make the referral. I gave her a rundown on things and she made a list and sent it off. He was finally seen by child development and they have said he indeed does have sensory issues. We don't have a full diagnosis just yet but I want to thank those people who have me the strength to keep going to get him seen! Thank you all very much! Now another thing if you don't mind? I am trying to find him some daycare as I really need to go back to work. The place I have him in I feel is too large and he's just not settling in so I can't leave him. Does anyone know of a good Childcare centre that is small in Hastings that's isn't too expensive & does Winz subsidies. Also he's 2 and a half in July so I don't mind waiting if he will need to move at 2.5 he doesn't cope well with change!
