No doctor can make your child be vaccinated, but you'll want to be fully aware of the potential side effects of avoiding them. CDC.gov is a good source of hard info.

I'm looking at the form: basically you don't have to explain your beliefs, but get a physician to sign it, correct? Any tips or can anyone chime in with their experiences that live in a state that allow personal belief exemptions? What are your personal risk factors for contracting Hep A or B? You can only contrac t Hep B from exchanging bodily fluids with an infected person. You can catch Hep A by eating foods prepared by an infected person. Most people who catch Hep A recover within a few weeks. It is a personal choice to be vaccinated. It is best when that is also an informed choice.

Thanks in advance.Wade A. replied:To answer your question about vaccinations, after being in the Caribbean for the past 5 years, I don't think you need anything special like cholera, typhus, yellow fever etc. See your family doctor and keep your normal vaccinations up to date, like tetanus, for example. If you scroll down deeper, you'll see discussions of Dengue and Chikungunya, but I don't think you can get vaccines for those - just try to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes. If you want more detailed information, check the CDC website, country by country. http://www.cdc.gov

Matt T. replied:Yep the conspirator in me coming out. I might be wrong, but see if you can find you what they call a gas sniffer they run from about 50-500 bucks. You might can find a slightly used one for in the lesser of that range. Maybe find a specialty electronics store you can rent from? Rich, I wouldn't steer you wrong alright. Certain mold spores can cause extreme lethargy, fever or contain neurotoxins. It may just turn out to be nothing, but you do need to get a sample of it and get it to a lab. Call this number: 1-800-232-4636 (CDC HQ in Atlanta) - be kind and considerate and maybe they will help you. Tell them you have had funny smells and vapors since moving into your new place and that you have a roommate whose health is you know lesser than average. Also inform them that you have noticed unusual growths where you said... Maybe they will send someone to take a look at it. Maybe this is a case of an uncleaned HVAC unit, but again I would err on the side of caution. Call that number and if they refuse to help What worries me is Oldham Chemicals (#1 supplier to places like Orkin is based out of Memphis)
