About us
Kilcoole Vets is a specialised small animal veterinary practice. The clinic opened at the beginning of March 2009. Kilcoole Vets is owned and run by veterinary surgeon Gail Nic Eoghain and veterinary nurse/behaviourist Shane Mc Dermott. Both had worked in veterinary practice for over ten years before establishing their own clinic. As lifelong pet owners themselves they share a vision of a companion animal hospital providing exemplary patient care and client service. Kilcoole Vets strives to embody that vision.
After inspection by the Veterinary Council of Ireland, the premises have been accredited as a Registered Veterinary Hospital. Under the practice accreditation scheme this is the highest level attainable.
The practice is located in the Whitethorn Centre in Kilcoole village (beside Tesco) and has ample free parking on its doorstep. On entering their bright and spacious reception and waiting area you will be welcomed by friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. To accommodate their clients’ busy schedules, Kilcoole Vets offers convenient opening hours: 8:30 am to 7pm (8pm Monday & Thursday) and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. A dedicated emergency service is provided outside those hours
A comprehensive range of health care services are provided under one roof for all small animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, small furry pets, birds and reptiles. Kilcoole Vets tailors a health care programme for each pet, through every stage of their life.

Fran M. asked:Anybody know of a vet in bray that will call out today. Very sick cat, have him in house, needs to be euthanised, was a stray we have been feeding for 3 years. Had flue, managed to get him to vet 10 days ago, got injection and antibiotics. However looks like theres a lot more wrong. Very sick, hate to see him suffer, drinking water but wont eat, wont go to toilet. That weak letting us pet him. Trying to make him as comfortable as possible. Hate to try and move him. Anybody know of any vet that would call up to house? Anyone help or suggestions.Sophie B. replied:Have a lot of experience with different vets. Would not go near any vet in Bray except Florence Road Vets but they will be closed now. Larry or Cormac in Ballyorney vet, Enniskerry will help you out. Clinic number is (01) 286 7146 (won’t get answer there til tomorrow) will PM you their mobile numbers. Kilcoole vets are very nice if you can get there also, number is (01) 287 4802. Eamon Moore in Blackrock Vet Clinic is easily one of the best vets in the country and would do a call out in this type of situation but won’t be there until tomorrow.
