Does anyone have any recommendations of local rescues or animal shelters that would accept food/supply donations? We'd also like to donate some of our troop proceeds from our cookie sales this year.   LITTLE GIRL DOG was going to have to be euthanized if her owner could not find someone to provide the medical care she needs. This is a sad story…. her owner is no longer able to care for her due to her medical condition. If we didn't take her she would have been PTS. Little Girl Dog is a yorkie/poodle mix. She weighs only 5lbs and that is as big as she will get. She is only 2. She has what they call a liver shunt. Her symptoms started over a year ago. She is vomiting, unable to keep her balance, etc. She recently started having seizures. Her owner is no longer able to provide her the medical care she needs which is the medications she is currently on to help keep the toxics down that cause the seizures and the surgery to correct the liver shunt. The vets recommended her owner go to see a specialist, but she had not been able to go due to cost. The cost of surgery has been estimated to be between $2,000-$3,000. Her owner reached out in hopes that we can help with her medical care and to help find her someone who can care for her the way she deserves. She is now in our care.   Our sweet little English Bulldog Fernando was sprung from the surgeon's office yesterday! He is dong great! This little guy is just amazing with his drive to recover. He was attacked in his own backyard by a group of dogs. His owner rushed him to the hospital but quickly realised they could not provide him with the treatment he so desperately needed. We were contacted after his owner gave him up to the shelter. After a week of hospitalisation, he was finally well enough to endure surgery to put his elbow back in the socket, we are hopeful this surgery will be successful and he will be able to keep his leg!
