I have an appointment at Bayview in Bremerton, who I love, but they are booked until Thursday. My dachshund may have injured her back. I want her seen to make sure it's not something else. She doesn't want to get out of her bed. We take her outside to potty. She seems a little better and will now climb up the two steps to the house, though we try not to let her. Has anyone ever had a dachshund or dog with a back injury? I know that their backs can ''fuse''. She's only 5 years old so I really hope this hasn't happened at such a young age. Any advice? Brittany P. asked:ISO: A good affordable vet in the area that won't charge me a gazillion dollars to take a look at my Luna Bug. I played chuck it (favorite thing in the entire world!) with her this morning before I left for work this morning and when I got home tonight she was limping and hopping and not using her left hind leg. I've been monitoring her and after about 4 hours she didn't seem to get any better. I've massaged it a few times, put some ice packs and warm compressed to try and alleviate the problem with no success. The reason why I'm so worried is because she is very athletic and can run for days...that's the cattle dog in her!! My sister who is a vet tech back home in Chicago where I rescued her from seems to think it may be a ruptured CCL, if that's the case she's going to need surgery...and an expensive one.
