Ezra and Zvi are very professional, concerned about the satisfaction of the client, and they are willing to go the extra mile for their clients. Even though I never met them face to face, their assistance was definitely worth the expense.

  We ultimately used Zvi Cars to buy used through a dealership. Leasing does not necessarily cost less, and it works differently in Israel than what you may be used to. It really depends on what your needs are. If you buy, you are also buying the resale value should your needs change and you need to sell. If you lease, you don't really have that.

  I have no experience with them per se, but I would check the prices they are quoting for cars. (This goes for anyone buying a 2 nd hand car from a car dealer). Many car dealers will quote 2 prices. The "book price" (known as Mechir Mechiron), and their discounted price. In many instances the figures will be incorrect, as the "book price" being quoted may not take into account other important factors that will inpact the true book price. Let's take for example a 2010 ex leasing Mazda 3 Active - 4 dr.with 120,000 km on the clock. The car dealer may quote something like: "Book price = 74,000 NIS; our price 59,000 NIS" The orginal book price for an average / good condition 2010 Mazda 3 Active is in fact 74,000 NIS. However, the book price gets impacted by the mileage, number and types of previous owners, accident record etc. In the above case, the book price would be reduced by 5% for high mileage according to August 2014 tables, and a further 20-22% for being an ex leasing car with high mileage. The high mileage would reduce the price by 3,700 NIS. Being an ex leasing would reduce the car by approx 15,000 NIS Therefore the true "book price" would be 74,000 NIS - 3,700 NIS - approx 15,000 NIS = approx 55,300 NIS. In this case, the true book price is approx 4,000 NIS less than the so called "metzia" (discount) the car dealer is offering in the above example. Again, I do not know Zvi cars specifically, or if this is a tactic they would use or not, but from experience with insuring cars for Olim, I find many fall into this trap of seeming to get a so called bargain, when being presented with this sales pitch. I would recommend you check the real book price first before agreeing to buy a car, once you have the entire history of the car available, to see how the data would impact the cost of a car. If you have a problem finding the true book price, your insurance agent should be able to assist. Good luck.
