  Hi Beth Fedirko Greenberg, Aaron Klein from Paramount Pest Management here. I am a licensed nuisance wildlife control operator and my office is in Glen Head. Contrary to some of the posts in this thread, I do not euthanize wildlife or know of any other reputable company that does...unless the animal is very sick or seriously wounded. I humanely trap wildlife and safely release them back on your property after their entry points are located and repaired. I can also safely transport trapped wildlife from your property to a different location if you wish, but I typically don't recommend this as the shock of a new environment may lead to the death of the animal. I found one today and my son almost stepped on it. My son has severe allergies and I don't want to find out the hard way he is also allergic to bees!   Hi Stacie Locascio O'Halpin and Maryann Ward. Just wanted to let you know that stinging insects send half a million people to the emergency room each year. Although they are not labeled as public health threats, like mosquitoes that spread West Nile Virus, they are certainly dangerous. That being said, a wasp/bee nest high up in a tree that is a good distance away from your house may be better left alone since it poses little threat to you and your family...for now. But what if the nest dislodges and falls on a front lawn, causing a bunch of wasps to scatter? I have seen this happen numerous times. Also, nests that are attached to, or in close proximity to your home (or areas that your frequent often), should be treated and removed immediately for your safety, as well as for your neighbors. Wasp nests do not belong on a structure. They can find a small crack and enter the home if left alone. Just some info and hope it helps.
