Hi, I'm looking at getting pet insurance for Meg, can anyone Recommend a company that does life cover. I'm currently torn between pet plan 4 life and John Lewis life cover, anyone had experience with them after a claim?

Shane we have petplan 4 life on both our dogs..one had to have both legs operated on as his knee joints had grown wrong and both patellas luxated and repair of cruciate ligament...luckily as his policy wasn't far off renewal so the vet contacted them and it was arranged one was done on one policy and the other on the next years...total of both ops just under £8000. After the first one we was watching a program and they had they had 3 people complaining how much their pet insurance had gone up!!!one was £1700 per year....we were sweating knowing he had had the first op and was due the next...our policy went up by £20 for the next year....our other dog who is older has had a run of bad health and is on long term medication and no problems for her either...the moral is that although it is dearer thanks lot of others around whole of life means whole of life for that condition and no nasty extreme rises each year.xx
Looking for insurance for my 10 year old crossbreed. Any suggestions/recommendations? Its a bit of a minefield.

I've worked in a Veterinary clinic for years and from experience Animal Friends are cheap for a reason. They don't cover alot and take a while to pay up, so maybe not the best for an older dog. You really need to look at what each policy covers so you can choose one more specific to your dog. Take a look at pet insurance from supermarkets, Tescos, Sainsburys, M&S etc as they are relatively quite reasonable.
Hi everyone, I am new & have just had 2 puppies. Can I ask who people have their pet insurance with please? TIA X

Petinsurance.co.uk underwritten by equine & livestock. Very good. Lunar monthly Policy for life. Benefits renew each month. Pay out quickly too. Been with them years.

I used pet insurance .com stopped it after i put in a claim for polly who had op on her leg was refused as they said it wasnt mentioned when policy took out but i couldnt prove it. When it was time to renew it went up by £3 whdn i asked why i was told it was because ide put in a claim even though they didnt pay out i was still penalised.
Sorry if this has been asked lots of times but was wondering what insurance company people use?
Just been quoted £35 per dog each month, I have one aged 8 1/2 and one 18 months. Would welcome your recommendations. Thanks
Dreaded insurance quote question - has anyone heard of or used pet-insurance who are also known as The Equine and Livestock Insurance Company Limited?

I've got 2 dogs with pet insurance. They paid out in full but was a while but they do put exclusions on for previous illnesses.been though my vet wrote a letter and explained that conjunctivitus was not a reason for an exclusion on eyes! But i pay £12 ? I decided to go for this as opposed to none
Rosie I. replied:
That's strange about AXA, because when they underwrite other people's insurance they put premiums up enormously. In the past AXA have taken over a couple of insurance companies I was with and they hiked up the prices big time every year I also think insurance costs depend on where you live. I live in one of the most expensive parts of the country (outer London)as far as pet insurance is concerned ,so mine is well cheap. I have friends who have moved away from this area and their insurance cost have halved !! So I guess if you live in the countryside , because your vet costs are less so will your insurance.
Trying to insure my 12 week old Pug is proving more expensive than I thought it would be, can anyone advise me on a good but reasonable insurance company please xxxx
