  As domestic abuse and violence rises alongside the unemployment rate where can people without employee benefits go for free councelling in Sylvan? Eg anger management, couples or individual therapy...etc. I'd like to refer a friend that does not wish to contact victims services. Do they need a doctor's referal to these free resources and are there any in Sylvan?

  There is also one at the doctors office you can see a doc and request to see for 6 free sessions :) 403-887-2221

  There is a psychiatrist/ therapist at the sylvan lake medical clinic that you can get into for free of referred by a doctor, I believe a referral is the only way to get in with her but not 100%

  The Sylvan Lake Medical Clinic at 50 th and 50 th. Has a new Dr that is accepting new patients. his name Is Dr. MacCommel.I had inquired in Aug if they were accepting new patients and they told me to call the beginning of Sept as a new dr was starting I have been looking for a family dr since we moved here in July. I just happen to ask at the right time As his 1 st day was Sept 22.I had my 1 st appt with him at 9:10 that day and he took on my husband and 2 girls as well. Call them as I am sure he will fill up fast! He is a really NICE dr who LISTENED as I gave him a quick run-down of my extensive health issues. That was Monday-I need an u/s and a referal to see a neurologist-today is Thursday and the U/S is booked and a referal has been sent off to a Neurlogist in Calgary. Back east it would of been begging and pleading to have those tests done!!
