  Our upstairs air conditioner is not cooling and hoping some freon would hold us over for tge season. Any recommendations for someone who will give me an honest opinion for repair? We had a home warranty a couple years ago but not one company the home warranty company sent out would replace the unit! They would put freon or repair a leak, like putting a bandaid on it for a while, but would not replace it since it was from the home warranty who sent them because it wasn't worth their time to replace! All the companies said if I had hired them, they would recommend me to replace, but they dont make money on the units since the warranty company purchases them elsewhere and it isnt worth their time! So much for having a home warranty, since it did no use for us.

  I cannot recommend Modern Mechanical highly enough. Locally owned small business. The guys do my annual inspections and never try to "Jiffy Lube" me by offering things I don't need like the last company I worked with. They also work closely with Comfenergy, LLC who can figure out where all the energy "waste" is going in your house, re-insulate, and save you big bucks.

  Hi Jim, You might be too busy to do it yourself so I understand but you may want to try. You buy a new one at Home Dept and you just snap and screw it in. That will save you $250.00 But if you decide to go the plumber route, stay away from Michael and Sons. They will charge you 500.00 I recommend Modern Mechanical 571-291-3338

  No problem. That is funny. They consistently have quoted us at least 1/3 more than other companies. And sent 3 different people to fix our hvac and still couldn't figure it out. Modern mechanical fixed it no problem!
