  Hi Chava. My son was born severely tongue tied. We saw Dr. Annette http://www.dr-annette.com she specializes in these procedures. She was amazing. They were thorough in their explanation of procedure, after care and even called to check in a few times during his healing.

  Dr Annette Skowronski in Shelby Twp does a lot of both tongue and lip revisions, with laser. It's about $310, due upfront and sent to dental insurance to reimburse you, and you get the codes to submit to medical insurance if you need/want to do that. http://www.dr-annette.com Dr Kaufman uses scissors and only does tongue ties (no lip ties, AFAIK). There are other preferred providers the opposite direction - Dr Chmura in Marshall and Dr Kingma in Grand Rapids (list from https://m.facebook.com/groups/333013786878501) as well as various other ENTs/dentists who will sometimes do revisions as well.

  Anyone know of a really good lactation consultant? Preferably knowledgable about a lip tie? My friend is having troubles (she's in northville) they had tongue tie clipped, still problems, her LC is stumped, I asked if they checked for lip tie and her LC thinks it wouldn't effect breastfeeding (but an OT friend confirmed baby does have it). Any help is much appreciated :) thanks!

  If you go see Barbara and she thinks the tongue is tied enough to cause issues she will send you to Dr. Annette Skowronski in Shelby Township. http://www.dr-annette.com/ You could get the ball rolling by contacting her office directly. They were GRE AT. You can email photos and she will let you know asap (as in the same day) if she thinks you need to come. We were able to get in next day! Dr. Annette is very nice and her staff is fabulous. She called me personally after office hours to make sure things were going ok after each visit. Don't waste time waiting until Friday. Call her office and send photos and you might be able to be done before Friday. BTW- I also had 2 consults at Mott. Had the tie clipped once then was told would have to have general surgery. I decided to use Dr. Annette and we are doing so much better. Elizabeth Stoffregen also used Dr. Annette.
