I am currently about to begin looking for a pediatrician. I am preparing myself for the uncomfortable discussions with him/her about opting out of vaccinating and was wondering- is there a way to know which doctors are getting kickbacks from which pharmaceutical companies? Or is there any legal obligation for the doctor to disclose this information when asked? Additionally, does anyone have any suggestions for me, should I not even be able to find a pediatrician willing to work with me? I live in a small town with limited options, so this may be something I'll have to face. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Just saw this post come across in my newsfeed--my husband is a chiropractor in Hurst at Lifetime Family Wellness Center - LFWC (just for a frame of reference that I'm not some crazy lady making things up in a post!) There are lots of types of chiropractic tables, but none of them are specifically "pregnancy tables." There are pregnancy pillows that can be added to the tables that have big holes cut in them to accommodate a growing belly. A great table for a pregnant mom is a hi-low table that allows you to lean on the table while standing up and then it lowers you to a vertical position (less strain on your growing body!). Just wanted to clarify for you! When looking for a doctor to treat you during pregnancy, make sure they are certified in Webster Technique. You can also check out www.icpa4 kids.com for chiros that are certified in pediatric adjustments. My brother-in-law is great for pregnant moms (has all of the equipment mentioned above) and is close to your group in Coppell at Dodge Family Chiropractic on Denton Tap--hope that is a little helpful! He was just discharged from the NICU a week ago, and he was having a real tough time every night with what seemed to be pretty bad tummy pain for about 4-5 hours. Immediate thought was that I was eating something that was causing him pain, so I changed to a bland diet. There was no improvement. He is also taking a vitamin with Iron (poly-vi-sol), since preemies don't receive that needed iron reserve from mom during the third trimester. I didn't give him the vitamin last night to see if that was the cause, and no tummy problems at all. His pediatrician recommended that I switch to Fer-In-Sol. I know that an iron deficiency can cause a lot if detrimental problems in preemies, but I worry this may have the same effect on him. Has anybody had experience with this? Any recommendations for how he can receive the iron he needs that may not cause this abdominal pain?

My problem is finding a Dr to take him to for wellness checks. We lived in Iowa when he was born and loved our pediatrician there, but when he was 6 months we moved to Ohio. We have been to 3 different drs, including a family practice dr today (we were referred to by another non vaccinating parent.) When we got there and they found out he was unvaccinated, they told us we were unwelcome to come back until we decided to vaccinate. I am tired of switching drs, but I want a good record of how beautiful and healthy my son is for if we go to public school in the future. If anyone has ideas or referrals of drs in the greater Cleveland area, please share.
