  Well heck! Just had an appliance repair service tell us our older fridge in garage (back up), is not worth repairing, needs a compressor. So I call The Town to see if we could put on the curb for bulky... not without it being tagged professionally 1st. Soooo I call the repair company again, and they quote $165 to remove whatever and tag it so I can throw it away! I've already posted it for free/needs compressor on all online garage sale sites. I doubt I get any response. I just soon repair and keep, but was quoted close to $600...I can go to Sears and get what I need for a garage for less. Soooo anyone repair on the side, have used working compressors? Do I really have to spend more than I paid to dispose of it?

  I use Allied American as someone noted above. They sell an annual service for both systems for $119. I've found them to be very good and honest. I have a home warranty and I still call them first for a diagnosis. If they can fix it quick and reasonable I go with them. I would only use my warranty in the event of catastrophic failure and then I at least have a proper diagnosis of the problem. 972-539-7077
