  FLT means Friendship Love and Truth which is the motto of the IOOF/Independent Order of Odd Fellows fraternity. I had a GGG uncle that was a member in Ohio and died in one of their sponsored homes. I sent an inquiry for his records and surprisingly they had them and sent me his information within a week free of charge. Go to http://www.ioof.org/ and click on contact. I do not believe this charter is still active. Let us know.

  There are several lodges that are successful in recruiting and RETAINING members aging 45 and below. Many lodges in the US and Canada, however, are failing to retain and maintain the interests of people aging 40's, 30's and 20's. Do you suggest that IOOF should focus on recruiting people aging 50 and above? Agree or disagree? Explain.

  I think we can incorporate the new with the old - our ritual doesn't need to go away, but we could utilize computers and internet to have a members section of Ioof.org with member learning, blogs, community sites - to share ideas, and direct accessibility with leadership, and a place on our grand lodge site to submit annual reports online - rather than handwritten. (Who in their 20 s and 30 s fills out paper documents anymore?) we should also have standards and guidelines for grand lodge sites - some are much better than others. Have you visited a masons die or a junior league site lately? Or even my sorority site - they're all south more useful AND engaging. There's so much more we can do, but we have to solve the problem soon or we'll pass the point of no return.
