Can anyone suggest a good Singapore/Malaysian place for dinner besides Mamak, Papparich, Temasek, Sedap, Chinta Ria, Petaling St?

I'd suggest Sambal http://sambal.com.au in North Ryde — had a very nice lunch their and tried quite a few of the classic hawker dishes and was pretty happy with it and all reasonably priced. Nice enough space, plenty of parking around.

Heaps in Kingsford, plus Sinma (for amazing hokkien noodles and Singapore style crab), Sambal (good noodle etc dishes as well as dishes to share with rice). China Ria Mood for Love was quite good the last time I went (a few years back) for otak otak etc
