Osteopath
Isabelle is a graduate of Kinesiology from the School of Lyon, France in 1981. Thereafter she immigrated to Quebec and completed her studies at the Montreal College of Osteopathic Studies where she obtained her Diploma of Osteopathy (D.O.) in 1994.
Isabelle was the one of the first Osteopaths to set herself up in West Island. She has a varied clientele including kids of all ages with specific attention to children with special needs and pregnant women. Recently Isabelle expanded her horizons perfecting osteopathic veterinarian care for animals (cats, dogs and horses mainly). Personally having cats at home, this decision was obvious!
In her own practice, Isabelle promotes the patients having a sense of responsibility towards their own health. This responsibility is shown through a healthy lifestyle in terms of food and exercise. Yoga and Pilates are examples of activities that Isabelle regularly recommends to her patients. The fact that we have instructors actually on site at the Continuum clinic is a major asset for the consolidation of osteopathic treatments.

Isabelle is not only an expert committee member of the Quebec Order of Professions, she is also currently Vice President of Osteopathy Quebec, an organization representing the majority of quality practicing osteopaths in Quebec.
Isabelle is interested in different alternative medicines and works in conjunction with Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine and Homeopathy amongst others. She actually teaches Osteopathy in Croatia and is regularly called upon to travel abroad to represent Osteopathy in Quebec.
Being bilingual French / English, Isabelle is active and regularly practices volleyball, yoga, swimming and skiing while maintaining horseback riding closest to her heart.

Récemment elle a ouvert ses horizons de soins en se perfectionnant pour les soins ostéopathiques pour les animaux, chats, chiens et chevaux essentiellement. Cavalière à l’origine ayant des chats à la maison, cette décision allait de soi!.
Dans sa pratique, Isabelle favorise la prise en charge par le patient de sa propre santé. Cette prise en charge passe par une hygiène de vie sur le plan alimentaire et exercices. Le yoga et le Pilates font partie des activités qu’Isabelle recommande régulièrement à ses patients. Le fait d’avoir des instructeurs d’exception à la clinique Continuum, est un atout majeur pour la consolidation des traitements ostéopathiques.
Isabelle a été l’une des première présidentes de l’Association des Ostéopathes du Québec et œuvre pour la reconnaissance de la profession depuis plus que 20ans. Membre du comité expert à l’Ordre des Professions du Quebec, elle est actuellement vice-présidente d’Ostéopathie Quebec, organisme qui regroupe la majorité des ostéopathes pratiquant une ostéopathie de qualité au Quebec.
Isabelle s’interresse aux différentes medecines alternatives, et travaille en conjonction avec la medecine chinoise, la medecine ayurvédique, l’homeopathie, etc…. Srdan Vukmirovic has a degree in Osteopathy from the Montreal College of Osteopathic Studies. His experiences in different clinics have shown him that osteopathic treatment goes well beyond a simple succession of manipulations. Having an overview of the entire human body, according to him, is essential for optimal treatment.Diet, exercise, sleep and a sense of spiritual well-being are different approaches essential to include in the osteopathic approach.
In addition, Srdan integrates his background in martial arts and his passion for exercise to provide a targeted and precise exercise plan to improve the functional status of his patients. In fact, his goal is to help the patient achieve a physical and spiritual well-being, in addition to a balanced lifestyle not just for the immediate, but long-term as well. This approach can even be applied as a preventive measure.
Recognizing the complexity and multidimensional nature of the human being, his objective is to help the patient regain the intrinsic state of perfect health and well-being. By combining his theoretical knowledge and practical experience, as well as following his intuition and empathetic senses, Srdan manages to broaden his horizons and look beyond the physical problem to offer an adapted treatment at a physical and spiritual level.

I was able to meet up with a British physiotherapist who was able to restore my back to its former glory.. ;) ! They dont use equipment (which has never helped in the past anyway) but just massage and exercise for 45 minutes. Does anyone know of someone like this where there is a one on one treatment program. I'm not a fan of these big physio clinics that line you up on tables and plug you in and come back 45 minutes later. Sorry to bother you but the pain is excruciating!
