  Hello guys, I am in the market for a cnc machine, or a laser cutter. There are so many options out there that it's a little hard to narrow down the best machines. I have been spending alot of $$$$ in NYC to get my acrylic laser cut. The material I need cut is a 20" diameter circle cut out of 1/8 th and 1/16th acryic. I just don't know where to start, originally I was looking into getting a co laser cutter but I think that may be overkill for my needs. Can anyone point me in the right direction of which machine I should be looking into purchasing? Thanks!! :) I attached a photo of what I get cut for reference

  I am going to suggest a CNC router for acrylic cutting and such. It is not a fun process, though. There is a CNC i have been eyeing for a while, the only catch is that you have to assemble the thing yourself. Soldering and all. https://www.inventables.com/

  Yes, it's a big box with all of the parts needed. There is a nice following of users on the forum on inventables site and the people are very helpful and share all kinds of information. Great links to instruction videos on YouTube user modifications and troubleshooting and just about anything you can think of.

  I have the X-carve from Inventables too (the one Grant Davis mentioned above). I got the 1000 mm version. It is definitely entry level, with room for improvement, but if you're trying to get your feet wet, it's a good place to start.

  I use a program used easal which a free web based program offered by the manufacturer of my CNC xcarve from inventables at inventables.com
