Met a homeless man and gave him Christmas gifts. Would like to do more. Any recommendations on getting dental work done? We were driving down Lake Shore and saw a homeless man camped out next to the lake by Hyde Park.
We brought him socks, a fleece blanket, hand warmers, food, and tea etc. from Starbucks. He introduced himself as Carlo. He was beyond grateful and we stayed and talked for a while.
His father was a GI stationed in Italy. He was born there and moved to Chicago as a young boy. He was a smart guy, about 60 and does not have any health problems aside from his teeth. He mentioned that he has trouble eating solid food because of his rotted teeth.
Do any of you know of any dentists in the city that would work with homeless people and/or work for a discounted rate? I would like to do more for Carlo if at all possible. He seems like a good person and I really think getting his teeth done would be a huge help.
