The only vet I know of who does emergency calls is Stephen Abfall in The Plains. When my dog broke her leg on a Sunday at 6PM he met us at his clinic within half an hour and was able to immediately provide care for her to get her stable before she had surgery the following day. I hope this helps.

My dog and cat go to Abfall. I like them well enough. Athens County Dog Shelter and Friends of the Shelter Dogs use them. I also like Kroner. They do boarding and vet/hospital. They're more expensive, but they're much nicer there.

I'd steer you toward Briarhill in Albany. They're a small clinic, rates are pretty low, even for the area, and they're super friendly. If you end up there a lot, you pretty much get treated like family because of the small size.
