There's a nice handful of good roads near the downtown Ellicott City area, just south of Baltimore. If you go a little further east to Sykesville, there are some good roads out there too.

Loch Raven Reservoir is gorgeous and Loch Raven Drive is pretty fun to drive on. Kinda small, but there are tons of nice backroads in the Towson/Timonium/Hunt Valley area. If you go up there and you're a fan of BBQ, check out [Andy Nelson's](http://andynelsonsbbq.com/). I make trips there every so often to take some of their sauce back with me (also, possibly to have some BBQ). Definitely +1 for /u/RossLH 's post about the Ellicott City area. All those roads were great fun in my Miata. Good place to stop by in that area is the [Phoenix Emporium](http://www.phoenixemporium.net/). I live in VA now, but I miss running all around up there.
