If you're willing to drive to Brandon, Care Animal Hospital is the best around. They are the only animal hospital in the area that I know of that regularly takes in strays and wounded wild animals to care for them. They guy on call there saved my Gus’ leg I tell ya after a snake bite surgery failed because it was resistant to the antibiotics we gave him. I agree than Banfield are not that great. Too many vets who are fresh out of school. Morgan vet is really, really good, but about mid-range as far as prices go. $50 ish for the exam, plus meds.

There's a place called Meadowrun Affordable Pet Care on Lithia. I've only been there a handful of times, but I haven't had any problems so far. The vet-techs seem to really like my dog (they even put a picture of him on their Instagram). I've never had a situation where I felt like they were charging way more than I expected, but I've never done any surgeries or anything really major there either. I did take my dog one time for "reverse sneezing," which was probably allergy related, and they seemed to fix that pretty easily.

Noah’s Ark animal hospital on bell shoals. Small place but they are the nicest people, will make home visits if necessary, and have great reviews online. I am a new customer and have a puppy that has been going there for 3 months now and they treat me and the pup like we are family

If you don’t mind the drive, Blake Veterinary Hospital in Dade City is fantastic. They truly embody the idea of a personal, small town vet and are very affordable. Our boxer has bad allergy issues (literally chews holes in her feet and haunches) and Dr. Blake was able to find a treatment that worked.

Annie Phillips...m I recommend Dr. Jim Antuñano at Animal Medical Center at Bloomindale and Bell Shoals. Saved my wolfdog Gunnar from cancer at the age of 6, with laser surgery on his tongue. No other vet in the area would touch my dog and they all told me he would die. After the surgery he lived to almost 15. Dr "A" as he is known...was doing laser surgery long before anyone else was. He has been around a long time and knows a lot. Has done skin grafts on my dog as well. He is an exotic pet vet as well. As long as he practices, I will never go to anyone else.

Yes they do, her name is Dr. Collins at Collins veternary clinic in Thonotosassa. It is on Knights Griffin rd almost to Plant City but she costs about 1/4 of what everyone else charges. She is mostly a farm vet. Believe me she loves animals...not in it for the money. If you tell her you need help, she even gives you meds free or almost free.
