They did not pass the inspection and still charged $100. It's a 2005 Ford Explorer with 82,000 miles. I've never had a problem with it. I'm taking it to the place Craig & JoAnn recommended tomorrow. The Service Engine stays on Greg. Thanks for everyone's input.

My ex took my daughter's car to Bert Wolfe, and they said she needed brakes to pass inspection. Wanted a thousand dollars! My ex said she didn't have that money right now, so they told her "We'll pass it if you promise to bring it back to get brakes". I looked at her brakes as did two other people, and they were fine. And a thousand bucks for brakes is outrageous! She did NOT take it back. They need to be reported.

Yes it is. Advance Auto or Auto Zone will check the engine light code for nothing. I've taken my truck to Copley's on the West Side a few times and never had to wait more than 20, 30 minutes. Just make sure everyone works.
